Show Season Is About To Hit The North West In A Big Way

So we are a few months into show season now and the shows that affect us north west lot are looming close on the calender, we had better start preparing for them.

First up, we have the CumbriaVAG show. Now in its second year after a fantastic show last year, this one promises to be a day not to be missed. A stately home, beautiful grounds full of modded VW’s (both air and water pumpers) and a very laid back family attitude, its a show for all. Oh, and we at Unphased are having a helping hand in this too. 3rd July folks, put it in your diary.

Next show local to us will be the Detailed Summer Bash, back at Awesome GTI on 31st July. Always a very popular show pulling crowds from far away. Unphased / UN/H2O have won best club stand for 3 years running now so we have a trophy to win again this year, hopefully. One of the highlights of the day is the DJ giving out prizes at the end, he never fails to have the entire crowd laughing.

Last local show is VWNW at Tatton Park on 7th August. This is a long running show which attracts a huge crowd of air and water cooled VW enthusiasts. Last year was huge, it was easy to lose yourself for hours wandering round the various club stands and massive auto jumble, again, a show for the whole family.

Oh, and did I mention, Im covering all 3 shows for a well know VW magazine which loves Performance

I took Sarah down to collect her mk5 from Plush yesterday atfer a obvious air install, whilst down there id arranged with Sam Travis off of facebook to take have a little bit of a photo shoot. Picture quality isnt as good as the originals…..as i stole these of facebook!

I can honestly say, I’ve not made much progress on the car at all, or at least it looks that way.. I have been hard at it for a week none stop. I have, since the last update, removed the engine, the ful wiring loom, all the brake lines, the subframe.. err cleaned and degreased the engine bay in preparation for the next step..

More recently I have removed any unwanted bracketry from the bay IE. header tank bracket, Washer bottle bracket, battery bracket, lugs for the loom clips, hooks for the air box all without removing any seam sealer.

The idea is, a clean and shaved bay with all the OEM goodness of a stock engine bay. I’m keeping all the original lines and body indentations, the seam sealer and just renewing any grommets or screws as necessary. This look is going to be huge this year and Proper huge next year so.. I’ll be just in time I reckon. Not that I give a fuck, as long as I’m happy.

I chose a colour, bought a new steering wheel and took loads of shit photos. Enjoy.

DIY De-cat.

A simple feat one may think, to add a bit of rasp into the life of my stupid mk3 VR that I hate/love very much, but alas; Ze Germans had to go better than everyone else and fill their catalytic converters with a woven metal mess rather than the simple, smash-able porcelain stuff used in the same period of Japanese car.

Dicks.

Looks like I’ll be attacking it with an angle grinder and welder then!

(P.S- Jaystate can GTF, my right arm is much bigger than his world famous left arm!)
