Spidermark 3

You know in spiderman 3 where a strange black entity from another world bonds with Peter Parker and causes inner turmoil as he contends with new villains, temptations and revenge ?

Well, this is the car version

A few weeks ago whilst bonding arches to my car using the best material known to man sikaflex!! My good friend Andy muttered the words Vauxhall Nova SR!!!!

A few short days later after getting a photoshop done by Mr Topping the decision was made that it HAD to be done

Finding and trusting someone with my car is always an issue for me but, for the job of applying the vinyl to the doors i knew the perfect guy – Neil from WRAPROTEKT. Located in Bury Manchester, it was just a quick hop on the motorway and i found myself at his unit asking all sorts of questions to which i had the answers before leaving.

After a few weeks Neil had a slot for me to go up and have the vinyl applied.. To say i was over the moon at the news was an understatement!

So, yesterday came and after work i drove up to meet Neil at his unit

Time for some pictures

It was about this time that i decided to lift Neils engine up slightly with a hockey puck. Neils car has been fully body wrapped in Oyster grey NOT WHITE haha

Then it was back to the wrapping

JOB DONE

I have nothing but praise for Neil.. a top lad and his work is fantastic so if anyone would like to contact him his details are as follows

Wraprotekt

The Mk3 is on air, at last!

Short but sweet, you get the idea. STATIC FTW!

A Wall Full Of Graffiti??? Pics Or GTF

Oh you better believe it people! Top to bottom of paint paint and a little bit more paint!!

By the way hello i’m Chris im new to this blog Richard gave me the powers a few days ago

On sunday a plan was formed for me to show a few of the lads a Manchester picture hotspot that they had ‘scene’ in a few pictures,  Hooked up at Krispe Kreme’s & we had the pleasure of seeing some Ferrari Toyota mr2 reps while we were there.

We finally made it into Manchester to said graffiti wall after loosing Adam after 10 seconds of leaving Krispe Kreme & while Alex’s car reminded him he forgot to tighten his wheel bolts while me and big Dom sat back and enjoyed a garage classic by Shanks and Bigfoot

Pulled up and it soon became clear my camera battery was flat but Depalm A came to the rescue and here are a selection of snaps that were taken all by Alex with some editing by myself

The wall is forever changing and may pop up on here again in the future

For reference the Golf is mine the Bora is Alex’s and the Polo is Adam’s

Chris

The sill scraper – How low can you go?

I really, really wish, we could get this down to Early edition :(

A Dubbers life..

Alright, alright.. I’ve been out of the game for over a year now. I know, it’s a joke right? Yeah, considering I went from having the worlds mintest Mk1 GTI at a value of close to 4K to having a rusty Vento, which I think was actually my last VW. Infact, yes it was.. it completely put me off them. Heaps of shit.

YEAH, so.. Here I am again. I have been hiding a Mk2 golf from you all for 6 months, HA, take THAT secret stealers. Here’s the s-tories*.

In erm, 2008? I bought H456 off our very own Adam Loliver.

Which was 80% mint at that point.. My intention, after breaking it a bit, was to put bike carbs on it, swap the RM’s for RS’s and get a bit of bodywork done. That never happened. I had RS’s sat in my garage for a year going pitted, I had a MK2 sat in my sisters garage for a year getting dented and had an engine in it, half built, that wouldn’t run. At this point I sold the car to a friend of mine (Tricky), who took all the good bits off :P and sold them BUT, he got it running and returned it to it’s former state as a proper Mk2 Golf GTI. So, around comes the arse end of 2010 and I have been through Mr2 turbos, 325 BMW’s and other rusty cars, I decide I want the Mk2 back.. I get it back.. I break it within 24 hours and it sits on my driveway for 3 months!!!! See the pattern? Fuck you Wolfsburg.

In the meantime, a friend of mine heroes his Mk3 VR6 into the back of a Clio. What’s that you say? “OOooo”? Yeah, you would have said Oooo if you were in the car with him, 35 minutes after buying it!

So, I bid him in the balls for it and started to rip the Engine out of the Mk2.. again!

The car is still sat in that exact sate, however. I don’t own it anymore. I swapped it for something which I’ve wanted for a very long time. The Mk1 ruined my mind forever, if it isn’t pre 90, I’m not interested anymore. I’ve gotten myself a B plate GTI, in alpine white and in need of a bit of TLC. All welding has been done – if it needed any. The engine bay is mint and it’s going to have all the predicted engine and running gear from the big bumper one on/in. The bodywork is ok but, it’s not an issue because we’re going to see Dark Dub boyo!

So expect a Small bumper Mk2 VR6 here anytime in the next 12 years. Expect, archless, beigeness, tweed clad goodness and 200 bhp. Of course this is all subject to change because, I’m fucking useless.

Last night was a night of Suspension swapping and subframe building. I’m staying narrow track with no power steering (because it can eat my arse).

We started at 7pm and finished at 11:30pm. Proper driveway dubbing

*Tories FTW.

Ultimate Dubs???

Ok, just in case anyone is thinking they have deja vu, yes I did post a UD write up last night. But Ric, being the kant that he is, deleted my user profile and my post this morning. So a round of applause to Ric please!!

So, the first big show has come and gone. The VW show season is officially underway.

Ultimate Dubs is the first chance to see the cars built over winter, see what the new “must have” mods are for the year and of course chance to catch up with mates that you havent seen for a while.

After a quick wander round the 3 halls full of cars it was apparent what the “must have” for this year is, Rotiforms. There was a shit load of cars wearing them. It seems everybody has an opinion about them; some love, some hate, I personally think they are shite but each to their own.

Another mod that is really starting to take over is air ride. And judging by the amount of cars with subtle “Air By Plush” stickers, business is booming for the boys at Plush Automotive. Of course all the cars on their stand were sitting inch perfect and it was the first outing for Luke’s new RS4 with stunning green leather interior. Plush also fitted the air to our very own Simpy’s blue MK5 Golf which had a crowd round it all day, looking amazing with the under belly kissing the ground and a set of 3 piece OZ Futura rims (the only car there with a set and yet another reason why he shouldnt buy Rotiforms!).

Some of the cars in the car park were worth a look too, 2 that spring to mind are Rich’s matt black MK3 TDI on 17×10 KW Turbo’s and Hamidi’s MK4 on air and X5 rims.

Inside, most of the cars were simply amazing, the sort that make you want to spend a fortune on the car you have!

Some of my faves of the day were a creamy white MK1 20v on polished Porsche splits, a white Eos, Gareth Spiller’s all conquering Vento R32, a beautiful silver Lupo GTI with so many clever little touches and Shifty’s stunning MK2 16v.

Enjoy some pics:

I Also Popped To See Luke @ Plush

Thought i should proably get back into this blogging game. If you dont already know what i’ve been doing, then you probably don’t have me on facebook! ;-)

3 weeks ago i dropped my car off at Plush Automotive. As was my plan for it from even before buying it! I Knew i could have had it done cheaper than the £9k ;-)  it cost me but Plush are the best in the air ride game! And seeing Dans White TSI and Lukes own 5 I knew it had to go to Plush. It had been booked in since i sold my mk4 months ago. To say the wait to take my car down dragged is an understatement! I Dropped the car off on a Saturday morning after picking it up from the bodyshop on the friday night, when i had my bonnet repainted as it was stone chipped to fook, rear US bumper fit and painted, and also one or two other jobs….which dont need to be mentioned ;-) So pleased with the how it came back from the bodyshop i had to refit my futuras in the dark as soon as i got it home.

Yeh, the stance is shit, but i couldnt care as it was going down to Plush the day of those pics! I adjusted the coilovers once, just after i got the car and that was enough, i hate coilovers. But fair play to anyone who has a low 5 on coilovers, but doing the whole static thing again wasnt for me!!!

Soooo Monday Luke emailed me this picture… BANG TIDY Notch! Awesome centre console management relocation. But saying it still needed a bit of arch work!

Then wednesday i got a text from Luke. “Mate ive just sent you some pictures of your car over……your going to seriously cream yourself! I honestly think its the best stanced 5 we have done to date!!!” – That’ll do for me!!!

So the results… Thanks to CHRIS SEYMOUR for the pics!  You’ll notice these pictures havent got a  watermark on them but i HAVEN’T removed it!  And i have got permission from Christopher to use them! I took a 30 mile detour on my journey home from Plush as Chris had been pestering all day to see the car and was more excited to see it than i was!!!

Went to something called Ultimate Dubs… a few people seemed to like it…

To say i’m happy with the job Plush have done is an understatment! The speed they work at and the attention to detail is 2nd to none! Deffo the BEST in the air ride game at the moment!  The rear fitment is perfect… whether my arches like it or not! Also thanks to everyone for the pictures. Where watermarks have been used you’ll notice i’ve left them and not removed them!

See ya at a show! xx

Ultimate Dubs 2011, Olliewerks Style.

So, it was that time of year again. Ultimate dubs. Early morning rip over to Haydock to get a similar opening shot as last years Ultimate Dubs video (check out my other video’s to see that one) and then a rip down the m6 to Telford hanging out of the roof of a Honda S2000, videoing VWs. I used two cameras, one with a fish-eye lens and one without.

We (Un-h2o) were down on numbers, but we made up for it in the amount of alcohol we consumed, and things we got up to :-/

By far, the best weekend of 2011 so far, and has set a high benchmark for the rest of the VW show season to live up to.

Unfortunately, if you weren’t there, you wont get most of it. But meh, enjoy!

Back To The Futura

Dug them out of the shed today and gave them a polish. They Still look shite in grey! But i cant wait till next time there on the mk5 again!

;-)

Whats In The Box…..
